Bob Marley

 

2008년 인도여행의 마지막 날 델리의 한 중국집에서 저녁을 먹었다.

올 때는 엄청난 폭우였는데 나갈 때는 갈헐적으로 비가 후둑이고 있었다.

조그만 광장을 중심으로 'ㅁ' 자로 상가 건물들이 형성되어져 있다.

이제껏 봐온 낡고 허룸하고 지저분한 인도의 상점들이 아니라 진열장마다 번듯하고 세련되게 디스플레이를 했다. 

 

어디선가 가느다랗게 낯익은 음악이 흘러 나왔다.  'no woman no cry'

Boney M 이 아니라 한 남자가 솔로로 리듬미컬하고 맛깔 나게 부른다.

여행의 자유로움을 만끽하며 몸이 저절로 박자를 맞춘다. 흥겹다.

근처 카페에서 나오는 음악 같은데 어딘지 짐작 할 수 없다.

 

여행 후 집에 와서 인터넷으로 찾아보니 Bob Marley 가 부른 곡이였다.

Bob Marley는 처음 듣는 가수였다. 자메이카 가수로 레게풍을 전 세계에 알린 사람이란다. 그의 대표적 앨범 'Legend'는 전 세계에 천 만장 이상이 팔렸단다. 

앨범 중 두번째 트랙이 이 곡이다. 실황을 녹음했단다.  그의 여인 리타를 위해서 만든 곡이란다.
